In today’s world, chronic diseases are on the rise, and nearly 70% of Americans live a sedentary lifestyle — sitting more, moving less, and feeling the effects of it every day. But the truth is, building your wellness doesn’t have to be complicated.
If there’s one simple step you can take to start feeling better, it’s walking — especially when you do it with a tribe that’s on the same mission to become happier, healthier, and stronger.
The Atlanta Walking Club was created to meet people exactly where they are in their health journey. We walk at our own pace, free of pressure or comparison, in a judgment-free zone that welcomes everyone — no matter your fitness level or starting point.
This is more than a walk; it’s a space to move, breathe, and connect. You’ll experience the wellness of walking, the joy of fellowship, and the peace of mindful moments outdoors.

About the Founder
The Atlanta Walking Club was founded by Kyriq Woods, a current doctoral student of Chinese medicine, health accountability coach, and wellness advocate passionate about helping people build healthy habits that last.
After witnessing how many people struggle to find their footing in today’s fast-paced, high-stress, and sedentary world, Kyriq wanted to create something different a space where movement, mindfulness, and community come together.
Since 2016, Kyriq has been on the forefront of helping others help themselves. Having personally experienced what it feels like to be sick, stressed, and overweight, he understands the challenges of reclaiming your health. Through his own transformation, he discovered what it truly takes to build a solid foundation for lasting wellness.
Kyriq believes that health doesn’t have to begin with strenuous workouts or strict routines. It starts with a single step and the courage to keep showing up. Through the Atlanta Walking Club, he hopes to inspire others to walk toward a better version of themselves, one Sunday at a time.
Beyond the walking club, Kyriq co-hosts the wellness podcast A Wellness Joint with Nephew & Unc, alongside his uncle, David Girton – gym owner, health coach, and speaker. Together, they break down health and wellness into real, everyday habits that actually stick. Their show offers honest conversations, practical tips, and sustainable routines that support your mind, body, and lifestyle no gimmicks, just real talk. Whether you’re new to wellness or leveling up your journey, you’ll find inspiration, insight, and laughter in every episode.
Through every avenue walking, coaching, and conversation – Kyriq’s mission remains the same: to help people reconnect with themselves, rediscover their strength, and realize that wellness truly starts with one simple step.
